Titan’s EPAS undergoing constant development

Since the launch of Titan’s EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted Steering), there has been extensive work to continue increasing the capability of the system.  Originally developed in conjunction with a leading automotive company, the system can be tuned for a wide range of performance requirements, and features:

  • Variable Vehicle Speed Input
  • Variable RPM Input
  • Hard Wired Ignition Signal
  • Programmable Assistance Characteristics
  • Safety States
  • Brushless DC Motor
  • MOSFET Motor Controller
  • Contactless Torque Sensor

In addition to the above features, the maximum torque output has been increased to 80nm from 54nm.  Titan has been working with customers from across the motorsport and automotive industry to tailor the system to their requirements.

Titan has been developing steering systems for over 30 years, and the transition to EPAS was the natural next step.  With experience of developing systems for automotive and motorsport applications, the EPAS has been met with great interest from the industry.

For those interested in the EPAS system, Titan will be taking their specially developed demonstrator rig to both PMW Expo in Cologne on 15-17th November and Autosport International at the NEC in Birmingham on 11-14th January 2018.
