Titan wins Prestigious Motorsport Industry Association Business Excellence Award
Titan has won the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) Small Business of the Year Award, having had 13% annualised growth over the last five years and with a turnover target of £8m in 2018. The award was presented at the Business Excellence Awards, held on the evening of the first day at Autosport International, Europe’s premier motorsport exhibition.
The Business of the Year Award, was sponsored by Lestercast and presented by Rt Hon the Lord Astor of Hever PC DL to George Lendrum, Managing Director of Titan, at the event which was attended by over 500 industry professionals.
The award capped off another impressive year for Titan, with investments in new facilities, technology developments and a significant growth of the workforce. Despite concerns in engineering and manufacturing in the current economic climate, Titan is pushing hard and continues on the path of expansion. A motorsport business that started over 40 years ago building racing cars, over the last decade has transformed into a quality focussed, leading supplier of engineering and manufacturing services to high performance OEMs and professional motorsport teams, as well as marketing its range of high performance accessories.
Speaking after the event, George Lendrum was both delighted with the award and excited for the future. “I am so proud to have been able to accept this award on behalf of the team at Titan. 2017 was a successful year, with big steps taken to further develop engineering solutions for clients alongside improvements in our manufacturing responsiveness and Quality Systems. The award is the result of great teamwork at Titan which is all focused on providing more solutions that delight our customers. 2018 looks set to see this continue with more investment in machine tools and infrastructure that will focus on the growth targets we have for the business.”
Titan joined an impressive line-up of motorsport businesses receiving awards. Other recipients, included: Prodrive, RML, National College of Motorsport, Goodridge, McLaren Applied Technologies and M-Sport, many of whom are clients of Titan.
